Exploring why we do what we do and why we repeat behaviors despite wanting to change them can be daunting.  I have certainly heard myself continue to talk about something over and over again, wondering why I’m not changing or why I’m focused on the same type of issue.  BUT, through the process of psychotherapy- talking and feeling the presence of my therapist- I have experienced lasting and grounded change in how I feel and how I live.

Once you begin the journey of self-exploration and stick with it, you might realize that your suffering has lessened. The problem or feelings you thought would never be different are, in fact different. You might start to make choices that will move you forward and bring more satisfaction, helping to find clarity and achieve goals. I believe in therapy and know it can help you do this.

Psychotherapy allows you to make changes in your life that are healthier. You may experience more freedom, a stronger sense of purpose, and more comfort in your body/mind/being.

I enjoy doing exploratory therapy that will help you identify the sources of your suffering but also the sources of your creativity and joy. You will steer our course in therapy, with my gentle guidance when needed. I believe you are the expert about YOU….even if you don’t feel that way sometimes.  You have inner strength and wisdom that just needs to be rediscovered or uncovered.  I am not a passive therapist, and I work relationally and have a well-developed sense of humor.

We can do Talk Therapy, and I also specialize in Art Therapy if you would like to create something and reflect on its meaning for you.  You may also use art during our sessions if it helps to ground you as we talk. The act of making art puts us in another state of consciousness, even if just a light entrancement. It can lower our defenses so that we might speak more freely without censure.

I will provide you with a judgement-free zone where you can explore life choices and lead a more satisfying and authentic life.
